Story :
Unlike most gnomes, Umbrosus was not born in a woodland village. Long ago, in the mysterious Twilight Woods—a magical place that lies between the living world and the spirit realm—he came to life from the very first autumn frost that settled upon a fallen oak leaf. While other young gnomes delighted in the bright days of summer, Umbrosus found comfort in crisp October evenings, glowing pumpkins and the quiet whispers carried on the autumn breeze.
For centuries, the night before November brought confusion as the veil between the worlds grew thin. Lost spirits wandered into the mortal world, while frightened humans struggled to understand the strange happenings around them. Wishing to restore peace, Umbrosus carved the very first jack-o’-lantern, placing within it a glowing ember of twilight. Its gentle light became a beacon, guiding wandering souls safely home before dawn.
He taught humans to carve their own lanterns and to leave small treats as gestures of kindness, helping replace fear with understanding. In recognition of his wisdom, the Ancient Magical Council named him Guardian of the Autumn Veil, though most woodland folk simply know him as the Gnome of Halloween.
To this day, Umbrosus quietly walks beneath the autumn moon carrying his glowing pumpkin lantern in one hand and an ancient skull in the other—a quiet reminder that every ending becomes part of a new story. As he wanders, he guides lost spirits home, protects creatures of the night and keeps the gentle magic of Halloween alive.
Special Ability : On autumn nights, Umbrosus can hear forgotten whispers carried on the wind. His enchanted lantern helps lost spirits find their way, while its warm glow brings comfort instead of fear.
Fun Fact : The ancient skull he carries isn’t meant to frighten anyone. Umbrosus says it reminds him that every life leaves behind a story worth remembering.
